Online Exhibition : Color Party West 2020

Hi, today I’m happy to announce that my collaboration artwork with Chie Shimizu (instagram :  @chieshmz ) is being exhibited on the online exhibition “Color Party West 2020”. 

Our work combines photography, illustration, and words (in form of poem, in Japanese). Creating small worlds, but with very special moments. We love creating those small, joyous, yet unnoticed moments in life. Unfortunately, the poem is in Japanese only, at this moment, but I’m hoping to be able to translate it properly, without losing the essence of the words to English, on the next occasion. Exhibition is on from December 1st to 31st. 

Just some quick information about the Color Party Exhibition. Color Party is an open annual exhibition held in Irorimura Gallery, in Osaka. Every year, one color is chosen as a theme color. Artists are free to submit work in any media or style, but must be made according to the the year’s chosen color. It is an exhibition that creates such a fun and interesting space throughout the whole gallery. I might be able to write a little more about in detail, and also show some photos from previous events on my next post. So if you are interested, please come and check back here next week.

I’ve been joining this exhibition since 2018. This year, because of the coronavirus, the exhibition was postponed until spring 2021, but the committe managed to create this special online version for this year. I’m not currently living in Japan anymore, and I can’t travel because of the coronavirus, so I am very grateful that the committe had found some time to make this happen, because then I could participate even though living far away.
